One of my favourite parts of autumn/winter is when the camellias bloom. Not only do they bloom in the colder months, they are also so deliciously decadent in their blooming. They’re the brightest of pinks and whites, standing out against their shiny dark green leaves. Some have thick layers of petals, ruffled and folded around yellow sunny centres. Once they are done with their times in the tree, they fall – sometimes as petals but other times as whole flowers, slightly brown at the edges, but gifts just the same. There’s something about the dying edges and slight crumpled look that just makes them more beautiful – precisely because they aren’t perfect, but more interesting, more textured. The path down to our house is sprinkled with camellia flowers the moment. I gathered some up, plus a few honeysuckle fuschias from the garden, and created a little display.
Gorgeous photos 😍 And I love your flower displays too George ❤️ I don't think I knew camelias flowered in Autumn!
I hope you're better soon, sending love n hugs 🤗😘😘
